The inspiration behind the name 'SUKHA'
SUKHA's Story“SUKHA” comes from the Sanskrit word (सुख), meaning “Intrinsic Happiness.” This timeless concept reflects the heart of our vision — creating a serene haven of peace, comfort, and tranquility in the lush landscapes of Sidemen, Bali. At SUKHA Container Cabin, we believe true happiness begins within, yet flourishes in an environment that nurtures balance and calm. More than just a name, SUKHA is a philosophy — a reminder to live intentionally, find joy in simplicity, and share that inner happiness with the world. Every detail of our micro container cabin embodies this spirit, inviting you to experience intentional living, connection, and harmony with nature.
The Logo
The SUKHA logo, with its clean and minimal design, embodies the Sanskrit meaning of “Intrinsic Happiness.” Its balanced form reflects harmony, simplicity, and the peaceful living experience that SUKHA stands for.
The four-leaf clover represents faith, hope, love, and good luck — symbolizing our connection with nature and commitment to creating spaces that nurture inner happiness and harmony.
Debby's journey: manifesting SUKHA,
a sanctuary of Intrinsic Happiness
THE FOUNDERDebby, a wild and free Manifestor guided by the principles of Human Design, created SUKHA Container Cabin as part of her deeply personal journey of healing and self-reconnection. As a devoted dog mama and nature lover, Debby has always been drawn to simplicity, authenticity, and freedom — values that form the heart of SUKHA. This micro cabin in Sidemen, Bali is not just a retreat but a manifestation of her long-held dream: to build a safe, nurturing space where peace, comfort, and tranquility coexist in harmony with nature.
The inspiration behind SUKHA was born during a season of quiet healing and rediscovery — a time when Debby longed to feel safe, grounded, and whole again. She realized that true happiness is not found in external things but is a journey inward — a daily commitment to emotional balance and self-love. That understanding became the foundation of SUKHA Container Cabin: a place where happiness flows naturally through stillness, connection, and the beauty of simply being.
For Debby, nature is not just a backdrop but a vital part of life. The rhythm of the land, the sound of birds, and the sight of mountains inspire calm and clarity. SUKHA was designed to reflect that — a sanctuary where every detail, from the garden to the firepit, is rooted in intentional living, permaculture, and harmony with the earth. It’s an environment that nurtures both inner peace and sustainable living.
Through SUKHA Container Cabin, Debby shares her belief that joy grows when it’s shared — that inner happiness can ripple outward, touching others through kindness, presence, and connection. More than a place to stay, SUKHA is a gentle invitation to slow down, breathe deeper, and remember what it means to simply be.
This space was created from the heart of her heart — and now, it welcomes yours.

The People Who Helped Shape SUKHA
Amandine Dubourg
PERMACULTURE DESIGNER & AYURVEDIC HEALTH COUNSELOR
Amandine Dubourg has always been deeply connected to nature and how it reflects our inner well-being. Having worked across the world in sustainable agriculture, fair trade, and social impact projects, she found her purpose in permaculture — a design philosophy that reconnects people to the earth and to themselves. Later, she expanded her path into Ayurvedic health counseling, blending her love for gardening and culinary wisdom to nourish both body and soul.
Her expertise guided the creation of SUKHA’s edible garden and helped restore the land to its natural balance. Though she has since moved on to new endeavors, her spirit continues to live in the soil, the herbs, and the growth that unfolds at SUKHA — a quiet reminder that true harmony with nature begins with gratitude and intention.

I slept better than I have in ages, wrapped up in the coziest little cabin while storms poured outside for days (as if nature was telling me to stay put). I ended up extending my stay, happily trapped in stillness and quiet. SUKHA is a reminder that the best kind of luxury is peace.

Absolutely loved my stay at SUKHA! Beautiful views, cozy room, and a lovely garden where we even picked fresh veggies to cook. They have fun little touches like conversation cards and a scavenger hunt that make the stay extra special. Everything feels homey and warm — you can tell the owner put a lot of heart into it. Can’t wait to come back!
